Thanks in advance for eventually feedback from experienced V5 migrators or from Martin Dyde. This document describes how to disruptively upgrade the NX-OS software of Cisco Nexus 35 Series switches from a variety of major software releases to other major software releases. My strong fear is that some MIDI settings might be lost this way, so I better double check and ask again, also whether there are experiences that all that works without programming settings again.Īnd last question, why is it strongly suggested to not use the current audio settings, instead program that again? Since I am fully happy with my 4 monitors + subwoofer settings in HW4, will I do have some disadvantages if I also migrate the audio settings for HW5? Is it not possible that I - if I find the new HW5 audio setting features very useful - use that new features instead later, AFTER entirely migration from current HW4 audio settings? for switching between sample sets or swapping keyboards via MIDI controls (background: in my environment I do EVERYTHING with MIDI switches, no monitor for changing settings). all sample set voicing adjustments, all MIDI controls e.g. So is the advice to better uninstall HW4 and remove everything, all sampe sets beside the Backup of the settings also on a Windows PC before reinstalling HW5 along with all sample sets and restore of the settings?Īnd is it proven that really ALL settings will be restored, e.g. Ok, but even if there is no need to uninstall HW4 on a Windows PC, the question remains what happens if we don't uninstall HW4 on a Windows PC: Do the old encrypted sample sets from HW4 remain and we have them additional to the sample sets in new HW5 format? I don't like to have lots of useless garbage on my hard drive.
